What is a Healthcheck? Print
A Healthcheck is the starting point of the Circuit Riding process. A Healthcheck aims to help a Cricuit Rider to examine and become familiar with the use of IT within an organisation, including the use of software, equipment and policies. It also seeks to identify training needs and specific areas for IT development. As a result of a Healthcheck the Circuit Rider will be able to make recommendations that could then be carried into development.

What does CITA provide?

CITA has been performing Healthchecks across the North East region within the Voluntary & Community sector since 2005. Healthchecks are funded through various projects being run by CITA and can be accessed by any VCO either through referral or by contacting us direct.

An initial (short) Healthcheck is carried out and a follow up meeting is called to discuss the findings. A further, more in depth, Healthcheck may be recommended.

Once a development is identified the Circuit Rider will then discuss a plan of action with the client and agree a timetable for the development. At this stage we ask the host group to commit to the endeavour.

Developments may be as short as a one off meeting or run for a maximum of 6 months and involve multiple Circuit Riders. The recommendations within a Healthcheck are not required developments for support, the host group can choose which, if any, they wish to undertake.

It is CITA's aim to leave a client stronger in terms of IT at the end of a Circuit Riding period.

With an extensive background in IT services for the sector CITA can provide supporting services (some funded, some at discount to the VCS) or can signpost organisations to providers of other IT services to facilitate the development.
