Did you know that registered charities can get legal copies of Microsoft software at a greatly reduced price? Well, now the process has been made even easier.
For those that aren't already aware, the Charities Technology Exchange (CTX) provide software donations to voluntary and community organisations. The software is essentially provided at no cost, but CTX charge a small admin fee on each purchase to cover the costs of administering the scheme. By a small fee we are talking as low as £19 + VAT for a fully licenced copy of Microsoft Office Professional Plus. And it isn't just restricted to Microsoft software, CTX have an continually expanding range of software and hardware on offer including: Cisco, Symantec and Flickr.
CTX have recently made several improvements to their Microsoft software donation programme. Where previously you could only apply for software twice within any two year period, you can now apply as often as you like. You can also apply for up to ten titles instead of the previous six. In addition they have updated their eligibility criteria to allow more organisations to claim for donations. Donation cycles have been reset, which means that those organisations that have obtained software through this programme before will be able to claim again with no restriction.
This is all good news for voluntary and community organisations. For more information and to see if your organisation is eligible visit CTX's website:
